Whether you’re preparing for your first consultation, learning about payment options, or looking for tips on caring for your braces, you’ll find everything you need to help you feel confident throughout your orthodontic journey.
01
Your First Visit
Your first orthodontic visit is an exciting step toward a healthier, more confident smile. During your consultation, we’ll take the time to get to know you, understand your smile goals, and complete a thorough orthodontic evaluation.
Dr. McKay will discuss your treatment options, answer your questions, and explain the recommended timing and estimated length of treatment. If orthodontic treatment is recommended, we’ll review your personalized treatment plan, explain all associated costs, and discuss financing options that fit your family’s budget.
Our goal is for you to leave your consultation feeling informed, comfortable, and confident about your next steps.
Please bring
To help us make the most of your appointment, please bring:
- Any panoramic X-rays taken within the past six months
- Your dental and orthodontic insurance information, if applicable
- A list of any questions you’d like to discuss
02
Financial & Insurance Information
We believe quality orthodontic care should be accessible for every family. Before treatment begins, we’ll review your treatment plan, explain all costs, and work with you to find a payment option that fits your needs.
Our team is happy to answer questions about insurance benefits, financing, and monthly payment options so you always know what to expect.
We accept
- Cash
- Personal Checks
- Major Credit Cards
- HSA & FSA Accounts
Flexible Financing
Flexible monthly payment options are available to help make orthodontic treatment fit comfortably within your budget. Our team will review available financing solutions during your consultation and help you choose the option that works best for your family.
Insurance
If you have orthodontic insurance, we’ll gladly help you maximize your benefits by submitting claims on your behalf whenever possible.
Please remember that orthodontic insurance is a benefit provided by your insurance company, and patients remain responsible for the balance not covered by insurance. If your insurance changes during treatment, simply let our team know so we can update your account accordingly.
03
During Treatment
Treatment Time
Every smile moves at its own pace. If additional time is needed to achieve the best possible results, we’ll continue treatment at no additional charge whenever appropriate.
Treatment may be extended if appointments are missed, appliances are repeatedly damaged, or recommended instructions are not followed. In those situations, additional fees may apply.
Retainers
After active orthodontic treatment is complete, you’ll receive your first set of retainers to help maintain your beautiful new smile.
Replacement or repair fees may apply if retainers become lost or damaged.
Billing
Monthly statements are typically provided around the 20th of each month, with payments due by the end of the month. If you have questions regarding your account, our team is always happy to help.
04
Caring for Your Smile During Treatment
Maintaining excellent oral hygiene throughout orthodontic treatment is one of the most important things you can do for your smile.
Brackets, wires, and appliances naturally trap food and plaque, making brushing and flossing even more important than usual.
- Brush after every meal and snack
- Floss daily
- Use fluoride toothpaste when recommended
- Continue routine dental cleanings every six months
- Contact our office if you notice damaged appliances
Our goal is for you to finish treatment with teeth that are not only beautifully aligned, but also healthy.
05
Eating With Braces
Certain foods can bend wires, loosen brackets, or extend treatment time. Choosing braces-friendly foods helps protect your appliances and keeps treatment moving forward as planned.
